Abstract
The concentration of sucrose in the phloem exudate from mature sugar beet roots was approximately 1/2 that in the expressed juice. The electrolytes in the phloem exudate made up more than 21% of the total solutes present, whereas the electrolytes in the expressed root juice represented only about 1% of the total solutes. The concentration of total amino acids was 2.5 times greater in the phloem exudate than in the expressed juice. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
