Polarity Programmed Gas-Liquid Chromatography

Abstract
A binary liquid phase composed of squalane and benzene, which is introduced as a component on the carrier gas, is investigated. The net retention volumes of several common solutes are presented for various liquid phase compositions. It is shown that an appreciable change in the “polarity” or separating power of a column can be effected by control of the partial pressure of a condensable component of the carrier gas.
