Abstract
The salivary glands of A. maculipennis may contain upwards of 200,000 sporozoites of Plasmodium falci-parum per insect. Most of these are discharged during the first 3 feedings after the 11th day of incubation. Practically all are discharged after 20 feedings. Few mosquitoes live to make 20 feedings. The technique of counting the sporo-zoites is given in detail. Keywords
