Abstract
Platinosis is a disease caused, not by metallic platinum, but usually by its complex salts, mainly chtoroplatinates. The cutaneous and respiratory allergic manifestations elicited by these salts affect mainly workmen In platinum refining workshops. Industrial hygienic precaution should be taken by providing for adequate prevention, but the problem of recognizing this disease as of occupational origin remains to be settled. The authors emphasize particularly the pathogenesis of this allergic disease due to salts which are experimentally able to produce an immediate histamine release. Keywords
