Abstract
Recently there has been continued interest in the use of plastic embedding for many histopathologic technics. One of the most widely accepted plastics is the water-soluble JB-4 Embedding Kit™ (Polysciences, Inc., Warrington, Pa.). This article will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of using this glycol methacrylate-based material as compared with the more traditional embedding medium, paraffin. Several detailed examples of various staining procedures for glycol methacrylate-embedded sections are also presented. Keywords
