Abstract
Review of previous studies on reserpine, chlorpromazine, meprobamate, and atarax in regard to stuttering. Tranquilizers do induce changes in the behavior of stutterers as well as in non-stutterers, but there is no clear evidence that these changes result in a significant reduction in stuttering, either directly without speech therapy or indirectly using the drugs as adjuncts. Keywords
