Abstract
It is shown how the recent data of Arriola et al. for angular correlations in electron impact excitation of argon can yield only two independent scattering parameters and not four as seems to be suggested by these authors. Some remarks are made on the usefulness of a full analysis of the polarization of the photons observed in coincidence with the inelastically scattered electrons. Keywords
