Abstract
The authors address the problem of inverting the dielectric response function of a superlattice in the random-phase approximation using a real-space formalism. They discuss the nature of the plasmons in such a system and point out how the formalism may be used to calculate the energy loss of hot electrons through plasmon emission. Keywords
