Abstract
The hydrogen local vibrational modes of ZrH2 and NbH0.3 were observed by using a chopper neutron spectrometer coupled with a pulsed spallation neutron source. From the momentum transfer dependence of their modes, it was confirmed that the hydrogen wave functions for the first, second and third excited states in ZrH2 are completely harmonic, and found that those for in =220 meV and in =161 meV in NbH0.3 are very different from simple harmonic, although that for the first excited state ( in =115 meV) seems to be harmonic. Keywords
