Abstract
In an attempt to improve results in ossicular reconstruction, a newly introduced material, PlastiPore, has been evaluated over a short term. The techniques employed are described in detail and the use of a lateral covering material such as tragal cartilage is advocated as a means of preventing extension of this foreign material. The results in over 100 ears are better than those obtained with previous methods. Keywords
