Abstract
In electron microscopy, the intine and the generative cell wall react very positively to tests for polysaccharides. The action of pectinase and EDTA on these walls reveals that they are essentially a mixture of a pectic amorphous matrix and infrequent microfibrils. The frequent occurrence of dictyosomes during intine formation is noted. Keywords
