Abstract

The isotope shifts of

{}^{41}K

and 12.4-h

{}^{42}K

relative to

{}^{39}K

were studied in the

D_{1}

line (

4 {}^{2}P_{\frac{1}{2}} \to 4 {}^{2}S_{\frac{1}{2}}

) 7699 Å by the atomic beam method and found to be +7.4 ± 0.3 and + 16 ± 4, respectively, in units of

10^{- 3}

{cm}^{- 1}

.
