n‐Butoxyacetic Acid, a Urinary Metabolite from Inhaled n‐Butoxyethanol (Butylcellosolve)

Abstract
Male albino rats were exposed to butylcellosolve (n-butoxyethanol), an environmental pollutant. Collected urine contained a characteristic metabolite, identified as n-butoxyacetic acid by mass spectrometry. The identity of the compound was confirmed by synthesis.
