Ar Auger electrons produced by 4-MeV proton impact on argon are measured with 2-eV (full width at half-maximum) spectroscopic resolution. A previously observed Ar Auger spectrum resulting from 6-keV electron bombardment is compared to the proton-induced spectrum.
