Abstract
This Letter reports accurate values for the oscillator strength of potassium, and possible resolution of some outstanding discrepancies concerning the oscillator strengths and photoionization cross sections of this atom. Our results establish a value of (5.2 ± 0.5) × for the photoionization cross section at the series limit.
