Abstract
A one-dimensional time-dependent model is described in order to determine the influence of the transport terms in a transversally excited discharge in molecular Nitrogen. The results obtained indicate that the assumption of a homogeneous electric field is not valid and that a cathode fall region is rapidly formed.
