Abstract
In the purely metric formulation of gravity and its first-order (Palatini) formalism, the energy - momentum flow reduces to the well known Komar superpotential. In this letter, an expression for the energy - momentum complex of affine-metric theories of gravity is derived. It is shown that for a generally covariant Lagrangian density depending on pseudo-Riemannian metrics and general linear connections, the corresponding superpotential takes the form of the generalized Komar superpotential. Keywords
