Abstract
A simple inexpensive liquisol quenching apparatus is described which produces thin flat specimens from metals and alloys. A small amount of the sample is melted in resistance heated graphite crucible. The liquisol quenching is achieved by squeezing the molten globule between the cold fixed anvil and the cold fast moving piston. The apparatus can be evacuated or supplied with an inert gas. Keywords
