Abstract

A new device is described for the frequency analysis of the ultrasonic pulses emitted by constant frequency bats. The instrument employs a phase‐locked loop and is capable of resolving frequency shifts as small as 20 Hz. The instrument responds to instantaneous frequency changes within 120 μsec.
