Abstract
The cross protection of group B arboviruses can not be directly related to the level of serum neutralizing antibody. The use of the immunosuppressant Cytoxan did not affect the cross protection. Only the early reduction of viremia may have some effect on the protection observed. The decreased ability of the brain, after vaccination, to support the growth of challenge virus appears to play the major role in cross protection. However, protected mice show fairly high levels of the challenge virus in their brains. Keywords
