Abstract
The time-dependent Klein-Gordon equation for a massive scalar meson field is examined in the Kerr-Newman background space and solutions near the outer horizon and at infinity are obtained in terms of Whittaker functions. In the special case of a Schwarzschild black hole the solutions are shown to be closely related to asymptotic solutions derived elsewhere. Keywords
