Abstract
It is shown that the characteristic working parameters of infrared absorption spectrophotometry of liquids give rise to inevitable reflection and interference effects which grossly distort band shapes and integrated intensities and which seem to account for the long-observed and frustrating variability in apparent peak absorption coefficients.Keywords
