The effect of prior accounting education: some evidence from New Zealand

Abstract
The advantage provided by prior accounting study at school in the corresponding first-level university course has been extensively studied. However, only one study (Schroeder, 1986) has examined the effect of the amount of prior study. This paper seeks to determine whether extra years of prior study conferred an advantage with a sample from New Zealand. The results were in conflict with those of Schroeder (1986). Tentative explanations are offered.Keywords
