Abstract
Light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were compared for qualitative assessment of rabbit axonal regrowth after injury. The superior resolution of the scanning electron microscope demonstrates a view of axonal surface anatomy not previously available. After technical problems are resolved, these methods should become routine in nerve regeneration research. Keywords
