Effect of polyamines on the proliferative response of T cells stimulated with antigen

Abstract
Presence of polyamines in cultures of human lymphocytes amplifies the proliferative response of sensitized T cells to antigens in vitro. Similar effects of aminoguanidine, an inhibitor of diamine oxydase, suggests a role of endogenous polyamines in normal proliferative events. This effect may have practical application in the amplification of low in vitro responses to antigens and in mixed lymphocyte cultures.
