Calcium and Phosphorus Balance Studies with Normal Full Term Infants Fed Pooled Human Milk or Various Formulas

Abstract
Data are presented from calcium and phosphorus balance studies performed serially during the first four to six months of life on twenty-five normal full term infants fed human milk or various formulas. Sixty-five calcium and phosphorus balance studies were performed on infants fed pooled human milk, sixty-seven studies on infants fed a commercially available prepared formula (Similac) and forty-nine studies on infants fed either of two formulas in which a portion of the protein was supplied as partially demineralized whey. Results of these studies are summarized and compared with data published previously by other investigators.Keywords
