Abstract
Syntheses of human gastrin (HI), a heptadecapeptide hormone, are described which proceed by coupling of derivatives of the tridecapeptide (1–13) or undecapeptide (3–13) sequences of the molecules with the C-terminal tetrapeptide amide (14–17) or its t-butyl ester. A feature of these syntheses is the application of a procedure which permits the rapid synthesis of the tri- and un-decapeptide fragments in high overall yield, and which is of general application in peptide synthesis. Keywords
