Abstract
Styrene polymerized in the presence of sodium tetrapropylenebenzenesulfonate in an aqueous system without any ordinary initiators. The rate of the polymerization was dependent on the concentration of the surfactant and on the initial monomer concentration. The apparent activation energy of the polymerization was about 13.9 kcal/mol. The polymerization was inhibited by adding hydroquinone to the reaction system. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
