Abstract
The ever increasing speed and data handling capacity of computers is placing high demands on the Internet, which has to get faster in turn. Clark (page 353), discusses how Internet technology is advancing, allowing not only ever faster transmission of large amounts of data, but also the possibility of prioritizing information transfer and other new capabilities not known in the original Internet. A key bottleneck will be the transmission speed to individual households, which may have to wait for a long time for the new, faster Internet to reach them. Keywords
