Emotional behavior was defined operationally as involving those types of response which have been considered by previous writers as denoting "emotionality" in rats and mice. The Ss were 114 CFW mice. Age and 19 measures of emotional behavior were intercorrelated. Factorization of the inter-correlation matrix resulted in the isolation of six factors which were interpreted as "elimination," "freezing," "grooming," "reactivity to E," reactivity to light," and "emotional maturity". It was concluded that it is an oversimplification to speak of emotional versus non-emotional mice.
