Models for Avoidance of Superparasitism

Abstract
Two models for avoidance of superparasitism are compared and shown to be close approximations to each other. Previous proposed parameter estimation procedures require iterative determination of the estimates. A simpler procedure, the method of mean and zero frequency is proposed. For this method explicit formulae are available for the estimates. A further important advantage is the increased efficiency relative to the alternative estimation procedures.
