Abstract
The existence of an electronic energy gap is demonstrated for a three-dimensional model of a disordered binary alloy, assuming that one exists in both the pure materials. To do this, multiple scattering theory is applied to a model which has only -wave scattering at each atomic site. A generalization to -wave scattering is presented.
