Diurnal Variation of Cytosol Estrogen Receptors in the Liver from Adult Male Rats

Abstract
The adult male rats showed a diurnal variation for estrogen receptors in liver with the zenith at 08.00 h and the nadir at 12.00 h. Estradiol-17β showed the zenith at 04.00 h and the nadir at noon. Testosterone had the zenith at 16.00 h and the nadir at 20.00 h. Prolactin showed a circadian variation with higher levels during the light period. It is concluded, that there is a diurnal variation for the cytosolic estrogen receptors in the liver from adult male rats.
