Comparison of Rapid Intravenously and Orally Administered Contrast Mediums for Routine Gall-Bladder Study

Abstract
THIS study was initiated to determine the comparative effectiveness of intravenously administered and orally administered cholecystographic mediums for routine use in x-ray examination of the gall bladder. The recent introduction of iodipamide (disodium N,N-adipyl-bis [3 amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoate]) solution, 20 per cent iodipamide sodium¶ for nonoperative choledochography and cholecystography stimulated our interest in the use of this substance for routine gall-bladder visualization.
