Abstract
The equation for convective‐dispersive solute transport in porous beds and the continuity equation were used to derive a relationship describing the dissolution of gypsum beds in flowing water. The parameters involved in the derived relationship were: bed length, solution flow velocity, dispersion coefficient, mass transfer rate coefficient, and gypsum fragment size. The proposed relationship was compared with previously published data and shown to be valid. A potential practical field application of the procedure is presented. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
