Abstract
The geographic and habitat distributions ofAnystis baccarum (Linné),A. jabanica (Berlese),A. salicinus (Linné) andA. sp. BWalzia australica Womersley andChaussieria warregense (Hirst) (Acari: Anystidae) in Australia and parts of Indonesia are presented. Laboratory trials showed thatA. baccarum will feed upon the larvae of the cattle tickBoophilus microplus, whilstA. jabanica also showed some predatory potential.Walzia australica andC. warregense had no effect on survival of tick larvae.
