Abstract
The addition of equipotent β-blocking doses of the adrenergic β-receptor blocking compounds KÖ 592, Ciba 39,089-Ba, and MJ 1999 to dog-heart-lung bypass preparations results in an increased resistance to blood flow in the coronary circulation, and a decreased resistance to flow in the inferior and superior venae cavae. These effects resemble those caused by propranolol and cannot be explained simply in terms of adrenergic β-receptor blockade. Keywords
