Abstract
When 100 [mu]g/ml isoniazid were incubated in phosphate buffer containing citrate and manganese, at 37 C, 59 [mu]g of isoniazid were destroyed in 18 hours. Peroxide was liberated during the breakdown of isoniazid. Peroxide formed by the breakdown of isoniazid within the myco-bacterial cell may be responsible for the action of isoniazid.
