Abstract
An experimental study of the dry buoyant plume rise from a finite size source into a stably stratified atmosphere has been performed. The test results are correlated with a recently published theory, which is shown to be applicable to a wide range of discharge conditions. Methods for predicting the height of the stratified plume accumulation, as well as the maximum rise height of the plume are presented. Keywords
