Composition of Milk from Talapoin Monkeys

Abstract
Twenty-two samples of milk from talapoin monkeys were analysed for their total lipid, protein, carbohydrate, and ash contents. The component fatty acids, amino acids, and major minerals were also measured in many of the samples. Talapoin monkey milk was very similar to milk from other primates, especially other Old-World monkeys. Some factors affecting the milk composition were also determined.
