Abstract
In the spirit of a recent calculation by Moniz and Sharp we have used the Heisenberg equations of motion to determine the self-mass of a nonrelativistic electron. We find, in contrast with their results, that this mass shift agrees with that obtained from the second-order energy-shift calculation. Possible sources for this discrepancy are noted. Keywords
