Abstract
Measurement of the relationships among personality traits is important for several areas of research. The popular semantic differential (SD) has certain inherent difficulties. A new dimensional scale was constructed to alleviate the difficulties. A study was conducted to assess the adequacy of the new scale and to compare it with the SD and a previously used scale that assessed trait relationships by means of probability ratings. It was concluded that the new dimensional scale and the probability scale are comparable and recommended that future research could substitute either of them for the SD.Keywords
