Abstract
In human lamellar bone, mineralization begins in a plane, termed the zone of demarcation, which separates osteoid seams from mineralized bone. Permanently fixed tetracycline antibiotics are deposited in the zone of demarcation in vivo, and in no other locus in lamellar bone.Keywords
