Abstract
Diagnosis of columnar-lined lower esophagus depends on correlation of fluoroscopic or cinefluoroscopic examination of the esophagus with endoscopic study and biopsy. Columnar-lined lower esophagus may been seen in 2 forms. The squamocolumnar junction may be a tapered, strictured segment or a ring-like constriction some distance away from the muscular esophago-gastric junction. Fluoroscopic and cinefluoroscopic study of the motor function of the esophagus in cases of strictures or ringlike constrictions will yield the evidence for differentiating this condition from short-esophagus hiatal hernia. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
