Abstract
The area is to the north of Cameroons Mt. and about 5 km. from the sea. The high forest showed (in 1948) evidence of former human occupation but was probably less modified by human influences than the least disturbed areas of rain forest in Western Nigeria. A profile diagram and a sample plot enumeration are given and comparisons are made with other African rain forest areas. Features which appear to be significant are the large number of tree species, the large proportion of leguminous trees and the occurrence in well-drained siturations of tree species which occur only in swamps etc. in climates with a slightly more severe dry season. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
