Evidence for $B^{0} \to ρ^{0} π^{0}$

Abstract

We present the first evidence of the decay

B^{0} \to ρ^{0} π^{0}

, using

140 {f b}^{- 1}

of data collected at the

Υ (4 S)

resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric

e^{+} e^{-}

collider. We detect

15.1 \pm 4.8

signal events with a significance of 3.5 standard deviations and measure the branching fraction to be

B (B^{0} \to ρ^{0} π^{0}) = (5.1 \pm 1.6 (s t a t) \pm 0.9 (s y s t)) \times 10^{- 6}

.
