Photodisintegration ofC12andO16

Measurements have been carried out on the distribution in energy and angle of the alpha particles from 485 ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$ and 57 ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$ disintegrations induced by bremsstrahlung of 27- and 33-Mev maximum energy. These measurements yield information on the energy levels in ${\mathrm{Be}}^8$, ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$, and ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$.
