Abstract
Summary Experimente are reported which attempted to study ocular factors relevant to spatial and temporal features of visual stimuli. Using electro-oculagraphic recording techniques, it was found that the nearest of two identical and simultaneously appearing stimuli was seen first. In addition, results indicated that scanning triggered in response to a signal can, ecen towards the end of its latency period, be adjusted to an additional signal that is presented doser and in the same direction. Hypotheses concerning the processes underlying the fixation response were suggested.
