Abstract
The lamellar structural proteins from the chloroplasts of Spinacia oleracea, Antirrhinum majus and Allium porrum are shown to have a strikingly similar amino acid composition although belonging to remotely related species. Even though these preliminary results pertain to only 3 species one may surmise that the lamellar structural proteins of the chloroplasts of other species also differ only in particular amino acids.
