Abstract
Many devices combining single mode fibre and low power electro-optical effects can be used efficiently in the telecommunication domain. We propose a technology of liquid crystal confinement between two single mode fibres which are embedded in ferrules. We choose the liquid crystal and the configuration (planar or homeotropic) depending on the required function. Keywords
